Little River Canyon National Preserve is in Northeastern Alabama and run by the National Park Service. It is on top of Lookout Mountain near Fort Payne. Little River has carved out one of the deepest canyons in the Southeastern United States. The river is said to be one of the cleanest and wildest waterways in the South. There is a 23 mile scenic drive throughout the Preserve. The area is known for hiking and other outdoor activities.
