Falling Waters State Park
Falling Waters Waterfall flowing into the sinkhole as shown below.

Located in Chipley, Florida, there is a 73 foott waterfall at Falling Waters State Park. It is unique in that it falls into a sinkhole.  We were told that by a volunteer that the Park Service  is unsure of where the underground cavity empties as they have gone as far as to put dye into the water to see if they can establish a outflow.  Where ever it goes, we are sure it is part of our Florida acquifer system.  The park is unique as it is part of the Long Leaf Pine Restoration and Conservation Project bringing the Long Leaf Pine (Pinus palustris)ecosystem back into Florida.  This tree once covered a vast portion of the South Eastern United States.

The campground is in a forested hilly location but access was easily maneuvered by us in our 40 foot motorhome.  The campground is well maintain with electric and water and well a primitive areas.  There is a dump station.
