Blackwater River State Park in Holt, Florida near Milton.  It's a quiet part of the state away from the beaches and large crowds.  It's a place to get back into nature and enjoy it's wildlife.  The Blackwater Heritage Trail winds through the area with more than nine miles of paved trails crossing several creeks where you can view our native wildflowers.  This is part of Florida's State Greenways and Trails System and is a great place for biking, walking etc.  There are unpaved equestrian trails here as well.

Driving from Henderson Beach State Park to Blackwater River State Park was about 50 miles.  Blackwater State Park is on the other side of I10 from the beaches and in the Blackwater State Forest.  It is in an upland old pine forest located on Blackwater River.  You can see how the trees tower above our RV(above).

Blackwater River State Park was created to protect the waters of the Blackwater River and created a popular area for kayakers and canoers.  The view above is of Oxbow Lake, an oxbow or u-shaped lake created by the river changing course either from flooding or some other means.

The campground has full hook-ups.
