We followed the yellow brick road and ended up in Eustis, Florida for the Good Sam's Samboree. It was held at Southern Palms RV Resort. The theme of the Samboree is the Wizard of Oz. For those of you that don't know what a Samboree is, here's some background.
A Samboree offers a chance to camp in one spot for a few days, spend some time with other RVers and pick up tips on how you can make the RV lifestyle more enjoyable. There are people new to RVing at Samborees and there are people who have been camping for 40 years or more. There may be retirees who are fulltimers or people with children who are getting away for the weekend and the mix is what makes everything so much fun. Samborees are part of Camping World's Good Sam's Club.
Samborees have been around almost as long as the Good Sam Club itself. They range in size from small (about 100 rigs) to big (about 500 rigs in the bigger states), but the prices are always affordable. We had about 400 rigs at Southern Palms in Eustis. Included in all Samboree registration is camping-sometimes dry, sometimes full hookups, sometimes somewhere in the middle- for two people for the duration of the event. Early bird camping is usually available for those on site before the Samboree starts, and most feature a daytime program that offers complimentary seminars, vendor area, games, and entertainment each evening. There are generally RV dealerships on site that have RVs you can look at too. Any member of Good Sam's Club can attend a Samboree and you don't have to be in a local chapter.
Good Sam's Chapters are not only about camping but they give back to their communities on a local, regional and national level. So if anyone is interested in finding out more, why not look up http://www.goodsamclub.com/ for information about the benefits offered by Good Sam Club and then check out the Community section for learning more about the Chapters, Samborees etc.
